Thank you for visiting my page. It is good practice to do a little research before choosing a therapist! Let me tell you more about myself and my approach to psychotherapy, and you can decide if working with me seems like a good fit for your needs.
I come to Harmony Clinic having trained in two disciplines of psychology, counselling and clinical. My approach is both strengths-focused and problem-focused. I have worked in schools, clinics, and hospitals, and with people of all ages, from 18 months to 80 years old. I guess you could say I’m well-rounded!
You may be wondering, what is it like to have me as your therapist? Working with me means collaboration, responsibility, respect and, above all, change. Together, we will help you identify your areas of inner potential, and help you to become more active in these areas. We will also help you to identify the ways in which you are getting in your own way. You will use your new behaviours, and the knowledge you gain from them, as fuel to pull yourself forward through difficult moments of your life.
The emphasis on you is central to our work together. You will learn about yourself and your psychology. What motivates you, and why? What brings you joy, pleasure, satisfaction, anger, jealousy, regret? How do you experience and deal with your feelings? What kind of thinking traps do you set for yourself, and how do these get in your way? What is most important to you, and how do you build a life in service of that?
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out.
